4th on 5th gen p/S pump ???? would it work
are you talking about putting a 4th gen pump on a 5th gen? or the other way around? either way i'm sure the pumps will swap, you may have to alter the lines a little. i don't actually know for a fact since i have never done it, sorry.
The pumps are physically different from what I've seen. I know for a fact that the PS brackets are different, so I would assume that if you have the right bracket with the right pump they would be swappable.

k anyone else with abit more feedback on this... i have the 4th gen pump and bracket just need to know if the bracket will fit on the 5th then obviosly the pump will as well
I was told (by another H-T member) that the 4th gen. p/s pump has a direct connection to the VSS, and the H22A4 p/s pump does not. So I guess since there is no attachment on the A4 model that there would be no place for the VSS....? I am not sure but that's what I was told.
4th gen PS needs the 4th gen Vtec PS bracket and the 5th gen needs the 5th gen bracket. They both bolt up to the H22 head. The PS line from both cars are difference. Nothing needs to be done from both on the VSS lines.

</TD></TR></TABLE>what you're referring to is the powersteering rack...there's a line there that runs to the vss

you need to use the line with whichever PS pump you with. The motor doesn't matter has long as it a Vtec model.
ex. if you have a 5th gen Prelude and you want to use a 4th gen PS pump and bracket you need the 4th gen PS line, samething going the other way you have a 4th gen Prelude and using a 5th gen PS pump and bracket you need a 5th gen PS line.

okkkkkkkkkkkk BUT where would i get the 4th gen line ??? when i got my engine the 4gen pumps line was cut so inorder to put the pump into the 5gen i need the 4gen line... at the dealership its 500$ lol so where do i find one at ?
Just a question (you can tell I'm a noob), but why would you want to put the pump from a 4th gen on a 5th gen? I have noticed with my 5th gen that if I do several quick lock to lock turns one after the other that the power steering does tend to drop out (especially when the car is only rolling slowly like in a car park). Is this a reason why you would put a 4th gen pump on a 5th gen?
lol noooo i duno anythin about that........ some guy with a 5gen who has a busted P/S i told him to buy my 4gen pump so we just tryin to figure out if its gonna work properly.... but i guess he needs the 4gen line as well which id uno where to get........so maybe its not worth it
