b17 --> what gap to set my spark plugs at?
the store book said .05 inch
what do you gap your plugs to? im running a stock b17 with AEM CAI.
I've been setting the plugs to the factory specs .04 inch, but i keep reading and seeing different gaps..
my gas mileage is pretty bad.. if i gap to .05 inch, do you think that would increase gas mileage?
whats your opinions???

What kind of plugs did you get? If you got NGK or Denso...then they are set to a pre-gap...It is always good to check then consider they could have lost the preset if they were knocked around in shipping...I believe its .045...but I'm not off the top of my head...it could be .035
I've used every plug possible from NGK Iridium, NGK Copper, Autolite Copper, Autolite Platinum, Champion Copper.
Everytime I've gapped them to 0.04 inch.
I just bought some Autolite Copper (cheap and dont a difference -> a good friend of mine made a good point.. no point in upgrading the plugs if the rest of the ignition system is stock). All works the same.. and plus this way I can afford to change the plugs as much as I want.
I think I may gap these plugs to 0.05 just to see what happens.
What is the difference between a big gap and smaller gap? (fuel mileage?, etc???)
