Please Help Quick!! Sensor Question on 2000 EX
Car: 2000 Civic EX (auto)
I bought a civic with a blown motor and took it out today. Tomorrow I plan to put the new motor in, but when I took the old one out, I noticed I broke a sensor. The new engine does not come with the sensor, and I have no clue what sensor it is. (I think its a sensor).
It is located right under the intake manifold in the back, and I think it is light blue. It plugs directly into the block? I can't find any photo's to show what/where it is and I know it sounds vague as hell. (It is in the rear of the engine and hard as hell to see, even with the engine out of the car. Thank you if you can help - it is very important.

Yeah its the same year as the car, both are d16y8 motors from 2000. I think the sensor may have already be broken, because the clip (which is blue) is broke and the sensor is still in the motor. Its a single wire sensor, so I don't think its too important but it would be great 2 know if I do have a problem. The car is at a friends shop so I can't take a photo (which sux cuz it would help), and I wont get to it til 2m.
Sounds like it is the knock sensor. It plugs into the block just above the oil filter. You will want to fix that, because if it is broken the ecu will pull timing and you will lose power.
I pulled the old one out of the engine and re-glued it to the wiring harness and then plugged it all back in. If it doesn't connect right, will it send a check engine light? How will I know if it lost power (I bought it w/o the engine).
Thanx
