Easy, just need confirmation.
I had to replace one of the bearings on the countershaft in my tranny. It's the top (passenger side) ball bearing http://www.redpepperracing.com....html (on the right it's the ball bearing below the lock nut and spring washer, third from the top)..
Well I had a shop remove the old bearing and put the new one on. (I don't have a vise to hold the shaft and I don't have a bearing puller) No big deal but they put the new one on upside down (so the groove was on the bottom).....
I had them swap it to match the diagram above, but they swear up and down that the old one was on the other way (groove on bottom). I just wanted to make sure 100% that the grove goes towards the nut. I believe that the snap ring sits in that groove so it would have to go that way....If anybody could confirm this It would be greatly appreciated. thanks
