Default idle problem

just swapped in my first motor I have ever built, z6 with a y8 intake mani- and b18a throttle body.......the thing idled at like 4000 rpm. soI tried to turn the idle down with the idle screw and got it down to like 3600. I figured something had to be wrong and the only thing I could think of was the bashbot opening up the throttle body so I disconected the vaccuum line that goes to the bashbot and now it idles fine except it dies when it is cold. I think I am gonna just run the thing without the stupid bashpot. Was there a possibility that the bashpot was bad?
I am pretty sure I had everything hooked up right. I had all my vacuum lines just like that one link to the y8 swap on http://www.geocitys/joeyp... something like that sorry I don't got the link...any help would be awesome guys thanx
