old school problem

Default old school problem

I have a friend that has a 85 crx si we did a swap in the car a few years ago an 87 integra engine anyway we sold the car watched it get tossed around town now we bought it back for less than we sold it for ok heres the problem some one put a new alternator on it now it pops the ecu fuse everytime I put in a new one I unplugged the alternator to see if it was at fault still poping fuse I work at a performance shop but the car is not here for my supervisor to take a look just thought Id see what you guys think to try oh yea they also ran it out of gas on a set of jack stands
pump bad?
ecu fried?
everything under the hood looks fine like it did when we sold it

the 55 amp fuseable link? did you unplug the 3 pin plug or the one hot wire? mine did the same with a shorted alternator.

I know what fusible link your talking about and the alternator wires I unplugged them and tried a new fuse still popped

remove the wire at the fuseable link going to the alternator. it sounds like its shorted proly under the intake

well I undid it from the alternator and kept the wires from arching out and tried that but I havent gone through the harness

this sounds stupid but check your pos neg battery terminals. the same thing happened to me when i put my battery back in ...backwards. it may be blowing the fuse to protect the ecu from getting fried. its prolly not it but its just a thought
