Default My New Project

Well, after having a bunch of cars before, I think I found one that I actually want to keep. It would be the perfect car, and I would have no thought of not keeping it....if it wasnt auto So I decided to keep it and swap it to stick because I got it for pretty cheap. But, I'll sell if the right offer comes along. Busted auto trannys suck too

Just one pic for now..I'll put some more up if I do anything important to it

Update: 12/1/05

Painted ugly rusted stealies black, put new unholey seat in, and put some blinging *** gold lug nuts on. Personally it looks a lot better but the pics look poopy.

Minty

Man, looks just like mine. I just picked up my 97 CX hatch 2 weeks ago and I actually plan on holding onto it for a while.

First and foremost, manual swap. Looking to get a whole y8 in at once. Boost down the road if I hold onto it for long enough.

Not sure on any other details yet, im just gonna dump it, some kinda black or dark wheels..cf duckbill and sir lip

for the auto/manual conversion its not that much more mechanical work than swapping in the new engine:

remove old ****.

install your d16 swap with 5spd tranny

install the clutch lines/cyl

cut a couple of holes

install the new pedal assembley

run the shift linkage and install the new shifter

and then, install boost.

done.

Ha yea, but from reading posts people are saying im gonna wanna kill myself while putting in/removing the pedals haha. I'm not gonna be doing this swap alone so I don't think of it as that big of a deal.

Looks like its in pretty good shape Doing the 5spd swap will be fun. I just did mine approx. 4 months ago. Its a lot easier than it seems. It took me somewhere around 15hrs to do. Keep us updated on how its going

yeah the auto/manual conversion isnt that bad. A buddy of mine's auto tranny went out in his 97 Ex. Picked up all the manual stuff(lines, master and slave cylinder, and pedal assembly) on Friday and was done with the conversion on Saturday night.
