any reason why you would need rods and sleeves? is that all your doing to the motor because if so i would think its not needed. all the stuff you have listed is just peace of mind stuff.

the reason for the sleeves is for how thin the cyc walls are, and how much i'll have to bore it for the pistons.

as for the rods, there forged and well, we all know forged parts are stronger then oem

I don't see a problem. Like he said, it's just "peace of mind stuff". I would do some head work. Then a little tuning. You should be fine to drive it daily.

That and if you are building a All-motor car. I would go 12:1 Compression.

That would depend on the quality of gas and tuning.

Yeah, as long as you're sleeving it, why not go with a bigger bore and more compression? Seems like a waste to put in sleeves with stock-ish compression and bore. Hell, 0.5mm over is a standard oversize sold by Honda. Think big, man!

he is thinking big he said 84.5 mm bore thats .5 over a b20 bore wich would definatly need sleeves for dd especially on a ls block. and with all that money your gonna put in it i would hope your going vtec.

But while you're sleeving, why not go 85, 86 or even 87? Pistons shouldn't be that much more, if at all.

i thought the bigest you could go on a b series was 84.5? the walls on a b20 are pretty thin as it is.

honestly your bottom end depends on your goals, if your just planning on a nice dd/weekend set-up. Then just go with an oem 1.8L block set-up.

that sounds like a good foundation, i mean you could always do more upgrades later, but why not do them now, so you dont have to crack her open later on down the road?? i like the way your thinking, i would just change a few things...definately a vtec head and higher CR pistons if youre staying all motor (you'll be pissed when you put all this money into the thing and its not even that fast due to the low CR, i'm running 10.4:1 Turbo Motor!!) and i would say balance/blueprint/crono treat the bottom end all up so you can rev her nice, and then some moderate headwork would sum it up...just my .02, dont gotsta listen, but the money to speed ratio in your project wouldnt be very good good luck, make sure you throw up some pics when you start getting her together, whatever the setup may be...

yea theres a place in nashville that'll completely blueprint, hot tank, and balance motors for like 250-300ish,so i'll prob hit that up.

i already have the motor tore down, but the build wont start untill Jan, i gotta have my suspension done before x-mas. i'm gonna start a progect log when i get done with the sup, so yea pics and info will be on that.
