Default water in trunk....

i never actually check my spare tire area until today when i braked hard and water came onto the back seat. i opened the trunk and there was a good inch of water in there. does anyone know what might be the cause of this? the lining around the trunk looks fine to me and i see no holes. anyone have a similar problem?

tail light gaskets or if you have a sunroof it could be one of the sunroof drains

same here. i think its my tail light gasket cuz it aint wet anywhere that I can feel. but im too lazy to change it. oh well. you can drill a hole and let the water drain out. just becare where you drill

Don't just drill a hole. It's easy to take the taillights out. Just take off the back panel and remove the inside nuts and they come off. After that clean up the gaskets and let them dry. Then run some silicone where the gasket meets the car and the headlight surface and put some around the nuts since they usually have some around from factory. Same problem I had but now I think my previous owner installed universal power antenna is leaking so I guess I get to take my trunk apart again, yay.

i do have a sunroof. but when i look at my tail lights there is a gap between the tail light and the trunk. so i sprayed water on the trunk to see how it drains and the water goes behind the taillight and then out the bottom, is this normal? i have no idea where the tail light gasket is. do i have to take my tail lights off to see them? thanks for every ones help

did you not read anything people above you wrote? take the tail lights out and fix it by putting silicone or whatever. or you can take a peice of rubber and rub it around. however you wanna do it
