Default What if I remove the oil pressure sensor?

Right now, I have a blower tap, an oil pressure gauge tap and the stock oil pressure sensor all on a big long thing coming out of my block. Frankly, it scares me.

I'm wondering if it would effect anything to just remove that stock oil pressure sensor?

You can to it. I did it on my DA... if you simply take the sensor off and leave the wire hanging the oil light will be on all the time. I just jammed a screw in the oil pressure sensor and left it plugged in and it's worked great for about a year call it ghetto but it's better than all that scary **** hanging off the block, especially if the T's are only brass, which I'm sure they are

just to mention, the part of the block where the OPS screws in, is very weak. Its effortlessly broken on my block. If you have a T screwed into the block now, consider getting the appropriate fitting to a stainless line then to a T fitting.

I searched it like, 3 times and I don't know why I didn't see that one... But hey.

I took it out, I feel ALOT better about so much weight removed from it and it works perfect. Thanks guys!

To play it safe, invest in a Greddy oil filter sandwich adapter.

I too had all that junk hanging from the block, and it was nerve-wreaking. For $50, the piece of mind was definitely worth it.

Now I only have two peices connected to one small block, and my oil pressure gauge line is helping to hold it up, it should be pretty light now. Horrah for choosing a Mechanical oil pressure gauge

Send an email to these guys and ask about their firewall relocation kit for your oil sending unit. It comes with a SS braided line and all the fittings youll ever need for 25 shipped! I bought one for mine and it made install extremely easy and clean looking.
