Default plug on a B18a

What is this green plug on the back of the B18a? Will I be using it in my Civic Si?

it's next to the oil filter.

Ok, so you will be using a knock sensor.

No, you will have to add it. Really hope you did your research before you attempt this, sounds like you haven't

I was told that the 90 to 91 ls motor was pretty much plug and play in the si other then the motor mount and links. It's no biggie if I have to add it, I was just wondering.

Careful on who you listen to, it kind of is plug and play but there are some things that need to be changed and added.

well kust reading on here, every one is saying you should just be able to pug it right up. I have not seen anything about this yet. But I guess I will just have to wire up the knock and call it a day. Or is there another ECU I can use?

You know what though, I thought something was weird in the picture. The knock sensor is usually higher up on engine blocks. That sensor is either for the cooling fan or oil light. How many prongs is there ?

So I searched, the b18a does not come with a knock sensor on it.

I need to get a closer pic, but the oil is next to it. I read somewhere that the GSR had a knock so I guess i'm good to go.

I just remembered doing it on my mitsu and yeah they don't even look like that. The look more like a oil sensor.

that motor doesnt have a knock sensor that plug goes to your dash for the oil pressure
so if you have an si or are wired for mpfi that motor is just a matter of plug n play

if its one prong then its oil light(oil pressure gauge if you have it) and if its 2 prong then its radiator fan switch. Another way to tell is unscrew it from the block and see if there is oil on the sensor!

If the head gasket is gone it's possible to find coolant on the plug which would give hime the wrong answer again.

It appears to be the oil temp sensor thats only used on the integras (92-93 only i think) to turn the fan on or off if the OIL TEMP gets too high. Can u get a better picture? Is the block a 92-93?

Knock sensors never came on the LS motor, thats a no brainer.
