Strength of '04 Accord 3.0 V6 motor?
What's up guys,
I'm new to imports - just bought my '04 Accord V6 about a year ago. I couldn't be more happy with it, except for some more power. So I was thinking about spraying my Accord. My question is: is the 3.0 V6 strong enough to handle a 100 shot - wet (and tuned, of course)? It would be an NX kit, so high quality. Car is completely bone stock.
BTW: Before the Accord, I had an '02 SS Camaro: intake/lt headers/straight exhaust/cam/nitrous, putting out 500rwhp and 600lb-ft, so I'm no nitrous/performance newbie. Just don't know about the strength of these stock Honda motors!
Any help is greatly appreciated!

The j30 (3.0 V6) in your Accord is a great motor but a 100 shot might be overdoing it. IMHO I'd be more worried about the trans since Honda has had quite a few problems with all the J series auto transmissions. Id get a 50-75 shot and change the trans fluid every other oil change. My .02.
Yep, you can get a 6-speed, at least in '05 (cause I was looking at one before I bought my '04), not sure about '04, but I think there was a 6-speed then too.
Anyways, it's the automatic. Is the atomatic transmission just weak? I also don't plan on using the car like a drag car: stalling at the line and launching hard. I plan on using the nitrous from a roll, and definitely spraying from about 4,500rpm and up.
I'm happy to find that my motor will probably be alright if the nitrous is done right, at least.
