Heres the scoop. Im 20 ( 21 in January ), go to college full time and work part time as a valet at a local casino. I make between 1,200 and 1,500 / mo, have NO credit card debt, a FICO score of about 740 and the only financial responsibilities I have each month are insurance for my current car ( paid off ), cell phone and gas ( live at home with parents ). Ever since I drove my buddy's dad's 02 S2000 back in 2001, I have just fell in love with the car. Im getting sick and tired of driving my explorer every day and would like to reward myself with a car I can actually be happy driving. I know there are drawbacks to each year, but how bad are they actually? Heres the basic question:

What year should I get? I COULD afford an 05 ( a few dealers here in MO have lots in stock so Im sure I could get them close to invoice ( winter ), but I ALSO don't want to spend more than I have to. Im not looking for an 00 with 86k just because its 14,5xx or whatever. I would just like your opinions on the problems each year had and how bad they really are. Like the oil delivery problems on the AP1... which year did they fix this / what IS the fix for it? What to look for when test driving an S2000, besides personal prefference, how bad IS the plastic rear window ( 00-02 ... right? ), or how much do the new door tweeters ( 03+ right? ) help the sound system. Im probably not looking to do any modifications besides wheels, intake and MAYBE exhaust. Nothing crazy, I love the car the way it is from teh factory. I would just like your help on deciding what the best "bang for the buck" would be, and some things to look out for when test driving a S. Thanks HT. Sorry for the long post
