y8 manifold on b7

Default y8 manifold on b7

Has anyone ever put a y8 manifold on a b7? I tried doing this but it didn't bolt up and the fuel pressure regulator is on the opposite side as well as a different type. Any advice? Thanks.

you mean the bolt holes are different
?
fpr shouldnt matter just extend the vacuum hose to it

Why wouldn't it bolt up? What year is the mani from? I think I may know why if it's what I'm thinking.

the fpr is a different design on the y8. The manifold is a 99-00 one. The holes line up, but the block gets in the way because the manifold needs to be grinded down.

i beleive you need a 96-98 manifold.

so the 96-98 is the one that will bolt up? Not the 99-00? So nobody has put a 99-00 ex intake manifold on their d-series?

(STEVORH) Its not a direct bolt on. You will have to trim the top of the manifold flange to clear the head. Or you can grind the head a little. Just use the y8 fuel rail with your old injectors and it will solve you fpr problem. The only other thing i had to do was drill the holes for the iac valve on the back of the manifold. Kinda tricky, but it works.

the 96-98 you dont have to do that.
