Well, you just have to pick one of three options:
A: Spend a little money and have a nice little quick car (bolt on's)
B: Spend a lot of money and have a fast car (na build up)
C: Spend a shitload of money and have a scary fast car (turbo w/built engine)

And trust me when I say this, that it is infact pretty damn scary some times.

Keep the car bolt-on and enjoy it for what it is. I thought about doing some crazy build with my ITR but realized that I didn't buy the thing to be a drag car. With good bolt-ons it's a solid mid-high 13 second car and that's plenty of speed to keep up with just about anything on a track and more than enough to have fun on the backroads.
My suggestion is to use the money you were going to spend on an ITR build and put it into another car. That's what I did. I bought a turbo B18B swapped EG hatch, added a few things here and there, and came away with a car that is not only VERY fast but also serves as a nice little daily driver/backup vehicle. I have approx 6k in the entire setup and that includes the price of the car. With only 239whp it trapped 114mph (it now makes a bit more than that) and most people will tell you that's pretty darn fast for an investment of only 6k. It's still going strong with almost 40,000mi of boost.

Stupid comments like this get so ******* old.
I opt for A. Reliability is my primary focus, but then again I like to take my car to the track quite often and do HPDEs (only reason to own one of these POSs IMO) and dont need it breaking down.

i am in bewteen right now.
A right now but willbe B soon
N/A is best !
depends on what you are looking to do with your car
i like my car to handle and be fun.. like i dont wanna be super fast going straight. so i went with pistons + cams + bigger injectors blah blah.
i now have full(mostly) bolt on . and it's quick but i want it faster.

since you already have i/h/e and a vtec controller, just get some cams and tune the car. You'll hit around 190-200 whp. I think thats good enough for 13's, but not sure.
If you HAVE to build the motor more then that, go boost...you will be VERY disappointed if you go NA. Turboed cars have alot more potential, and if the motors built and you just want more power, all you have to do is turn up the boost, and retune.

I could tell u to search, but nah. Put it this way. If u wanna go reeal fast. Boost it, and make sure you build it right. If u just wanna turbo it on like 5psi its not really worth it (itrs have high comp ratio and really dont like boost on stock motor). Alot of built N/a itrs run awesome and are very respectable.
All in all, you choose. Find someone thats got a boosted honda or something, take a ride. Or take a ride in a nice N/a honda.

Boosting an R is rather pointless if you ask me, but if I asked you Id guess you dont have one or you dont track it.
Its such a high theft item the only reason I still opt to own one is how great a car it is out of the box, for the track mostly. Boosting it throws a ton of the reliability out the window IMO and seeing as how I'm not exactly local to any tracks (the closest being 100+ miles away) reliability is everything. With Chris F being the only exception.
