Default CRX will not be a collectible car...

I still love my CRX, I don't care what David Grainger says.

Future collectible cars must exhibit the same qualities as the great collectibles of the past. They will feature high performance and limited production, have features not found on standard issue cars and will, in the best cases, have been bred on the race track. They will be the cars that your 18-year-old will salivate over and which common sense will tell you are extravagant and perhaps even a little silly. thats a pretty biased list.

But he is pretty right with comparing a CRX to the real track-bred cars like the toyota supra, subaru wrx sti, or the mitsubishi 3000gt VR4.

While the CRX does have the potential to woop all these cars on the track, the CRX was not meant to be a sports car but rather a economical car. However, there is the CRX SI (maybe honda wanted to make it more of a sports car then a track car *shrug)

This guy said that the Prowler is one of his picks. I have heard that it can't go above like 70 or 80 mph without shaking. Not that i care about top speed at all. It is just that everyone thinks they are great. I think they are very ugly too.

I would take my rex over it any day.

I lost alot of respect when I read "Plymouth Prowler" as a no brainer he wrote. That POS was a flop, hes just another biased pro-american, he didnt even list the Integra Type R or even S2000, those will become classic/collector far before any SRT4 will. Alot of the cars he lists will become collectable simply because they were junk and didnt sell very well ie Thunderbird. In 30 years time things will be different, our generation has grown up into Japanese cars, in time they will start to go up in value more and more, starting with the Supra. As far as the CR-X goes I really cant say, its a great car but they made too many of them. Theres a reason very few of the higher priced engine trim optioned muscle cars from the late 60s were ever built, the hemi was crude and had a poor powerband for the street, this is way many of them sat on dealer lots, if mopar etc could have sold far more they would have. Limited production no matter what kind of vehicle insures collectable status, only time will tell, give it 40 years and id bet the CR-X, Civic, integra etc will all be collectable

well although I love the crx. from the factory its performance and handling is awesome but i guess its just not comparible to the almighty awd's, twin turbos supercars and the like. and not concidering what can be done to it in the aftermarkit with suspension upgrades, motor swaps, he is not to far off. but saying it like he did makes me think that he just didnt want to pick it becasause of its "econo" box characteristics. or because of hondas rep with certain crowds. most honda fans would say the crx is honda's first and only sports car aside from the s200. just my opinion. not wanting to start a battle.

I was looking into secondhand NSX's... 1991's still go for well over $30,000.

That's some crazy collectability.

Hm, if noone wanted it then, why would they want it now?

Since when does the Prowler have any power? Its got huge *** rear tires and a 6. I've heard their slow as ****.

Collectibility is decided in the eyes of the buyer in my opinion, and if you love CRX's and you find a really clean one 10 years from now, its gonna be worth some cash to you.

Not being from the states, I have no idea as to who this person you guys are talking about... but the CRX is A-L-R-E-A-D-Y a collectable in some parts. So I'm guessing this person's forte is making bread, or knitting jumpers and that cars is just a hobby for him... Either way he's already wrong.

Why are you upset over the opinion of a nobody? I'm not losing any sleep over this. In fact, I'm flattered that he's comparing my once econo box to some of the more heavyweight sportscars of it's era.

If the only reason you love your car is for its collectibility, I don't think the CRX is for you anyway..

****. Am I going to have to drive up to Toronto with my EF8, take him for a spin to educate his unknowledgeable ***? If I let him behind the wheel of my car Im sure it would be enough to bump certain cars off of his list like the Stealth and others where reliability I guess doesnt count towards being a collectors car. Hell there are not any Yugos on the road anymore because they have the relibility of a Cuban built bobsled. Because of the lack of Yugos on the road does that make then a collector? Idiot.

He should of renamed the article to "Cars Guys Get When They Are Having A Midlife Crisis". That would of made his list seem more reasonable.

"You might want to hang out less on the track and open your eyes more just on the road.
I think your article says more about your brain size then about what you know about certain types of cars."
