anyone ever heard of useing a b16 ecu on a z6?
Yeah, I remember some fucktard was using it and was revving is Z6 to 8 grand, what a ******* moron.
DONT DO IT...here's why
1. The B16 requires more fuel than the Z6, you will run richer and therefore slower.
2. The B16 is a dual cam motor, and therefore the timing will be off.
3. The Z6 ECU already lets you rev to 7400 RPM, way past max power on that motor. If you rev any higher than that, you're just asking for your motor to blow up.

exactly you have a z6 not a b16

You can shave a half second off your ET with a better launch...i doubt it had anything to do with the ECU

I also use a chipped PR3 for my Z6 in my 90 hatchback. The only reason for me doing this is because its better than running an RPM switch. AND that it was/is the only OBD0 vtec ecu that I have/had. The car is surprisingly fast, and I beat my buddys OBD1 Z6 CRX on a regular basis.
The main thing that scares me is overrevving the engine. The ecu is chipped for 9500 revlimit. SO I HAVE to make sure to not mis-shift. I try to shift it around 6500 on the stock Si tachometer, just to give myself that extra little leeway.
I dont know if you are right about it running rich though. My car pulls around 32 MPG and the sparkplugs come out a nice golden color.
