Head gasket thickness?

Default Head gasket thickness?

i blew a headgasket in my b18c and i need to replace it. my question is i plan on boosting quite soon so does the thickness of the headgasket help anything? and also what are some quality brands. thanks

cometic is as far as you need to look for a performance head gasket.

also the thicker the gasket, the lower your compression, so every .015 (fifteen thousandths) you'll bump the compression about +.6:1, so a .010 thicker head gasket would take you from 10.1:1 to about 9.7:1.

its your choise what compression you run, just remember to get head studs, and install them with the proper manufacturer's lube. this is kindof a big deal.

so if i get a thicker headgasket i can up the boost a little more then 7-8psi on stock pistons
