Starting a brand new motor!!!
Im almost done building a new engine and im nevous as **** when it comes time to start it. I heard horror stories about melting pistons and rings f-in up. Should i have my tuner start it in my gargage or on a dyno.........anyone
this is what i do ...and i havent had any probs... remove plugs, disable fuel, prime engine, crank until u get pressure, ck oil level after pressure is built up, i ALWAYS use a stock ECU and injectors to start the engine and drive it around a bit, now depending on what your doing with the engine turbo NA bla bla...if your using bigger injectors with your built motor i would drive it to the tuner on the stock ECU and injectors and swap them out at the tuners place then have him do the rest, u dont want to over fuel / run way rich on a new engine or any engine for that matter u can damage the rings...oh ya CK your ignition timing ck for leaks make sure coolant is full etc...good luck...
yeah have the tuner start it up etc....
people say if you burn a basemap your safe to drive it etc....
Do you want to risk the price of your engine or towing it to the shop?
