Default killing the d4 light

after doing an auto to manual swap on a 93 prelude si, the red park light remains solid and the green d4 light blinks constantly. If i cut the wire at the console, the car wont start. if i unplug the auto tranny computer (next to the ecu), the car wont start.

Is there any way to kill the d4 light without pulling apart the dashboard and clipping the bulb?

that sucks, my d4 bulb has been burned out since i bought the car. You might have to take the cluster out and remove the bulb.

if u still have the auto tranny then take out the gear selector switch and plug it on the car, then turn the gear selector to P so the D4 wont flash anymore. you can do that or get a manual gauge cluster, remove the bulb. removing the bolt is pretty good idea thought.

Taking the speedometer out on the 4th Gen's is easy. I would take the bulb out.

Alright, thanks. I guess ill just have to bite the bullet and pull apart the guage cluster.

If anyone has done this before and has any tips or insight it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys

Helms manual if your friend.

Just get a Vtec cluster out of a wrecker or a prelude club (Toronto Prelude Club, Ect.) and replace it. Automatics are gay and I'm happy you have a 5spd now.

I actually have a 5-spd cluster from a 92 si. I dont really care about the redline, and other than that i think they are identical.
Ill check my trusty helms and see if its going to be a real pain in the sac.
