Replacing light in instrument console.
The D4 light has burnt out - how difficult is it to replace it?
I know how to take out the instrument panel - do I have to open it up also?
The bulb - do I have to get it from the dealer or is it avilable at Pepboys, etc.? Anyone know the exact part number?

You can find the replacement lights at pepboys, and the colored lights in case you want to have a different glow from your gauge lights.. I think its light # 184? Don't remember exactly.
Not sure what the D4 light is. Does it light up the gauges at night? If so there are 3 bulbs and the size number is 194. You can get this at any auto parts store (ie Kragen, Pepboys) or K-mart and Target. HTH
This info is for the 3rd gen tegs.

I think he is talking about the automatic gauge cluster and D4 would be 4th gear. The process to take out the gauge cluster should be followed. 2 screws holding in the bezel. Then 3 screws holding in the cluster. Unclip the cluster from the 3 harness connectors and unplug the lights and replace as necessary. I believe in auto cluster the indicator lights are separate and special order but I have manual and am not sure...
