Are you interested in doing a trackday here in Japan?

You would be required to have a set of at least 4 point harnesses and a helmet.

It's a HKS intake.

Oddly enough, a lot of JDM ITR's that I've seen for sale have that same intake. My JDM ITR also came with the same intake.

ive already called every single registered importer in the states and they all said they could not help me. ive seen registered RHD cars but i think they are all firewall conversion cars. so unless i talk to someone who has brought a ITR over there and registered it then i will sell it when i leave japan. it has a HKS filter and as you can see in the pic it was really dirty so i bought a new one. im waiting for some one to say its not a real R also.

Bring it over as a track only car.

That's my plan.

Just to clarify, when I say "track only" it means "road course use only".

Even bringing the car in as a race car would be very hard. you have to get a letter from honda stating that the car was not intended to be used on a normal road and only then can you start the paper work with the DOT. And you have to go though one of these guys RI if you want to get your car registered.

I contacted all of them and none of them would help me out. If you all could only try again and get a quote on a 96 ITR then i would be at a loss for words seeing as i tried for a couple of months with only sorry i cant help you as a reply. I am also eligable since im in the military to get the car shipped back for free with my orders. But since its pretty much impossiable to do im just going to bring a built motor back.

You can contact a private parts importer and have the motor taken out and shipped along side the car, this classifies it as "parts use only" and requires no paper work. When it gets here, just put the motor back in and keep it off of public roads.

You are also authorized to ship a certain weight of stuff back(depending on weight). What I would do is strip the car before I head over to the states. Put it all in HHG and call it a day.

I have a 96spec ITR, I'm located in NY. Drive it everywhere

No idea how they got it on the road for me. But it's registered, insured and has plates (I had a little problem with the registration a few weeks back, but that was my fault not the importers)

What state are you located in when you come home? Maybe I can help you out. But then again, I don't know how LEGAL my car is, but I've been stopped by many cops and no tickets for the car. It comes back clean.

GL with it, and it looks very clean.
