DIY Caliper Lettering?
Was looking at my car today and relized the calipers were too plain even though they are painted Red. I would like to get some white lettering on there that says ACURA. Would a normal vinyl decal hold up to it or just burn off later? If so then I may go get 4 decals made for $4 here, aint the caliper white, apply decals, paint red, remove decals, high temp clear.

I was plannin on painting them white, putting down the decals, and painting them red, then removing decals so the white "HONDA" would show thru. And by painting them white first the red will actually be brighter, or more noticable if you will. No decals to fall off then!

try it and post pics
sounds like it will work
where can you get a "honda" decal small enough to do the paint technique? i would probably try this. And it would be done on the front only? since the back calipers are very small.
if i do it, im only gonna bother with the fronts..... cuz I just put new pads n rotors out back, so no use ****** with it... i actually think i am going to do them black with white lettering, because I repainted my rear ones black. I'm gonna see if the local sign shop can print me some cheap "HONDA" decals for masking for a few bucks, I'm sure it wouldnt be any big deal.
edit: found this pic.... sad its a hyundai tho, lol

and this one.... dude needs to clean his **** tho....

This right here would be the best technique. I was about to post the same thing myself.

wow, i got owned (sarcasm).....
There are two types of people on Honda-Tech, the ones who are informative, helpful, and supportive, i.e. the one's I'd be willing to help if they ever asked. Then there are the "***-bandits" who think their **** doesnt stink, and just because they don't like something, "it's retarded". These are the kids that sit at home, waiting to get their allowance so they can buy another set of Altezzas, and that sweet new Aluminum spoiler.
I think that Spending a few bucks on paint is smarter than buying a big brake kit for the "bling", because my car will have just as much if not more stopping power as an AEM big brake kit, and still show my love for honda. If you want to get into specifics feel free to ask... I'm ASE (A5) certified in brakes, and if you want to know, I'll gladly explain it all to you. I'd more than willingly own a Wilwood Brake kit, but the cost is out of the question, as I am trying to afford a JRSC, so for now, my "Honda" painted calipers will do.

this method described below uses the vinyl as a stencil:
