Default just got my car tuned, what do you all think? *UPDATE*

just wanted to know if you think it should be putting down higher numbers, or is it where its suppose to be.

SETUP
J-spec b16
wiseco 9.1-1 pistons
eagle rods
skunk 2 intake mani
700cc injectors
walbro fuel pump
garret CT26 turbo (non-ballbearing)
custom charge piping
greddy blow off valve
tail wastegate
2.5in downpipe
2.5in cat
2.5in cat back
ROMtune computer
14psi boost
front mount intercooler

Finally got the motor broken in and got it dyno tuned. 267hp, and 180lb-ft-tq. they were saying its kinda alot of tq for a b16. what do you all think. i would take pics but the motor has a gay blue "type R" valve cover. and i haven't had time to change it, so once i do i will get pics.
p.s. dunno if it matters but its got a GSR tranny on it, and its in a 90' crx.

UPDATE
i called to get specs on everything to make sure i was correct. i have 9.1to1 comp pistons. an the turbo is a garrett CT26. its going to get rebuilt though, the oil seal in the turbo is leaking a lil, so there gonna fix it.

Your numbers aren't bad considering you have a cat/full exhaust on the car still and your compression being in the 8's.. Do you know what the specs on the turbo are?

no all i know is its a garret and its conventional bearing. i think i might upgrade to a different computer system, to get more adjustability.

I'm not familiar with the ems your using right now but can you alter the timing maps with it? I think if your looking for more power you would probably be better off getting a bigger turbo, but your gona sacrafice spool time... Allthou I don't know if you lookin for more power or not.

they said when they were tuning it the turbo could do up to 21psi. but the b16 sleeves would be compromised. he said i could run 17psi and be ok, but i need a 3-bar map sensor to go any higher. so for now 14 is it

You can push any turbo to 21psi but the real question is when is that turbo going to start blowing hot air in and loosing efficiency. Thats why I mensioned a bigger turbo, ultimately you could be running the same amount of boost but making more power.

i dunno if it will fit. its 1/4in from the fan housing now. its stuffed in there. and i think they meant that it will do 21psi safely, then it starts to crap out.

267whp on 14psi (just under 1bar boost) sounds a little low to me, i think it should be around 300whp an that kind of boost, you should go with a 3" downpipe and exhaust and ditch the cat and then see how much you can put down

eh, 3whp short of 270 isn't horrible for the setup listed. It's clear the 2.5in dp > cat > 2.5in exhaust is holding you back. I wouldn't be surprised to see you go 3in from turbo back and see another 10+ whp.

Also, depending on how conservatively the motor is tuned there could be power to be made there....

Bottom line... Don't get disapointed just yet. There are still simple things that could put you closer to 300whp.

Interesting... The stock map sensor is only good to 11psi...

yea, they said might go out now, the map sensor, but it runs good. its plenty fast for the street for now, till i get used to it. but i really need to do the suspension and tires.

Seems kinda low. 180 ft/lbs isn't really a lot either? It kinda sounds like those guys were blowing air up your ***.

look at it this way:
stock b16=135ish whp w/ stock compression?
8ish:1 compression=125ish whp?
14psi=140ish+/- whp
2.5" exh/cat/dp
sounds decent.

can there be more gotten? possibly. add a 2.5bar or 3bar map, 3" exh w/o cat and play w/ timing and you'll def get more.

They come with 160 CRANK horsepower, not wheel horsepower. Come on.

Why such a low CR? Seems like the motor would've been built to see a substantial amount of boost, but then it wears a run of the mill T3/T4?

I agree with that, you are going ot have to push out some boost to make any power with that low of a C/R in a B16. Get a motorolla 2.5bar map sensor if your tuner doesn't want to go over 21 psi.

Comp and turbo seems to be why your power might be low compared to other B16a's. I would have done a 9.2.1 pistons with a gt30R on 14psi would have yield atleast 330whp, but anyway I think if you mill you head and get some comp out of it TQ numbers might jump up!!!!!

Numbers seem quite low. What are the specs of the turbo?
