Default 215/45/17

hey, ok i had 215/40/17 size tires all around but couple days ago i blew my right front tire on the side and couldnt get it repaird. so intsead of buying a new one i took my friends pair of 215/45/17 khumo's he had laying around. i got the rear wheels put up front and put the bigger ones in the back.. but for some reason only the rear right tire rubs when i hit a bump or something, and the left is perfectly fine.. what can be causing this?

Might be good idea to have an alignment check, to see if the wheel is leaning in or out slightly.

if i were to get new 16 inch wheels instead of 17 inch... would 215/45/16 be the same as 215/40/17

exact same thing happened to me last year, I hit a raised sewer and busted my front tire they were 215/40/17 now I have 215/45/16's and its a much nicer ride, falken make the azenis in this size tires are great on dry roads. I really ejoy this combo much more then the 17" setup. corners better, acceleration is much and the ride is much smoother over bumps. I really like it... wouldn't go back now.
