Default Weird mushy brake? new MC

After finishing installing my b16.
Went to take it out for a ride, the brakes are mushy. WTF.

Check around for any leaks, nothing.

It builds pressure when the car is off,

Turn the car on, the peddle goes straight to the floor.

If I pull the Emergincy brake, the peddle doesnt go down to the floor, and stops the car like usual.

so I check my Wheel Cylinders, I replaced them when I bought the car a year ago. there still like new.

so, that leads me to belive my MC is bad,

Get a new one, Bench bleed it. Bleed all the brakes with brand new fluid.

Still mushy.

What else could it be???

hope this helps, found it a year back or so...

1. With the engine off, press the brake pedal several times. Then press it hard and hold that pressure for 15 seconds. If the pedal sinks, a brake line, wheel cylinder or master cylinder is faulty.

2. Start the engine with the pedal pressed. If the pedal sinks slightly, the booster is working. if the pedal height doesn't vary, the booster or check valve is faulty.

3. Press the brake pedal with the engine running. Then stop the engine. If the pedal height does not vary for 30 seconds the booster is OK. If the pedal rises, the booster is faulty.

4. With the engine off press the pedal several times with normal pressure. When the pedal is first pressed, it should be low. On consecutive applications, pedal height should gradually rise. If pedal height does not vary, check booster check valve. The check valve is the thing in the big vacuum line going to the booster, which is below the master cylinder in the engine compartment

check the fluid level? maybe a bit low after bleeding?

Thanks for all the info, did some stuff with my bro. found out there is brake fluid leaking behind the booster inside the engine bay. I dont get why, the MC is brand new. Where could the fluid possibly come from? I dont get it. but Im going to replace the booster anyways, cause its old as dirt anyhoos. heh

I dont know if this has anything to do with it...but did you replace the gasket where the MC meets the booster? Or maybe you doubled them up? I did this once...the old one stuck the to BB and i didnt notice it. When i put the new one on it had a nasty vac leak because it wasnt sealing right. Doubt it has anything to do with your situation but i thought id throw it out there.
