I guess first thing, make sure your axles are completely in all the way. Make sure the cup is almost all the way agains the transmission on the drivers side, and you have the half shaft bolted up.

Make sure you don't force the transmission in, or pull it to the block using the bolts.
If you do this, it will throw off the clutch alignment. You should be able to get the transmission back onto the engine by hand, not buy drawing it in with bolts.

right i just hold mine up with the bolts and work it into place. did you instal the throw-out bearing right? these are alil more complicated to install then the hydro trannies.

welli was under the impression that the clutch would have to be aligned corectly if it bolted up otherwise the tranny wouldn't be able to go on. so would having the drivers side half shaft not bolted in make the car not move, i just noticed i forgot to rebolt it on ...

I would imagine. Double check everything and try again

Have you bled the Slave cylinder/clutch lines and checked your fluid levels?

It is a cable tranny; no master/slave cylinder for the tranny.

If the clutch is not engaging, then you don't have the throwout bearing on the spring clip right; it is a bitch to do. Pull the tranny, try it again.

Oops, Sorry about that INfo. I read that a little too quickly.

I too would vote for the spring clip. And Yes it is a PITA
