I am just wondering your guys pointers and these cars. Which would your prefer and why.
$10k 2000 civic si 50k miles or a $5 1994 integra gsr 114k miles
Honestly not including price which is a better car?

 

It's all about what u prefer. Personally the civic, but that's just me.


Or u could buy my Si. 72k, JDM ITR cams, AEM short ram intkae, Tanabe racing medallion cat-back, Aerospeed coilovers, KYB gr-2 shocks, DC sports short shifter, Suspension max front and rear camber kit, Kumho 711 series tires, Chikara front and rear strut bars, DC sports lower tie bar. And a couple of other things. 12k and I'll throw in the stock parts for free.

I personally would go for the GSR but that is just me, I love my B16 but I would love TQ more. I am now doing an LSVTEC just to get some bottom end out of my hatch.

I'd take the $5 integra &gt;_&gt;

Sorry had to say that. It's really just based on preference. I'd probably take the integra though.

the gsr is a 1994 not beat with cai aem umm dc sport 4-2-1 header and apexi n1 cat back exhaust. how much would you offer 113k miles

Id get the SI, just because i love the body style. The GSR is faster and has more potential from the factory, but the body on the SI is just mmmmm....

 

if you have any bit of arrogance, go for the gsr

the si would be alot cleaner suggesting 2000&gt;1994, and less things would break or wear in newer models.

 

 

Had a GSR and now an SI. They each have their pro's. I like the SI more myself

I was in the same boat as you, except i was set on a civic SI, the cheapest one i could find was a 99 with 40k for $9000, the guy sold it out from under me. Im pretty damn glad though because i ended up with a 98 gsr with 70k for $7300...and sold it for $6800 to get my civic.

Right before i sold my GSR, i drove to a used car dealership to test drive a 99 civic SI with DC headers, AEM intake and cam gears and some other crap i wasnt interested in just to see which motor i wanted for my civic motor swap. Im pretty glad i got the gsr. Comming right out of my gsr and going into the SI was horrible. The ride was SOOOO much better in the GSR, the si felt like it had no torque at all, and i was pretty dissapointed. But deffinatly i would take the gsr anyday.

Thats just my experience though.

I was looking for a 94-01 GSR when I found my Si.

I couldn't find any GSR's so I took the Civic, and honestly it has been the best car i've ever owned. Not one single major problem in two years and I've put 36k miles on it. (had 38k when I bought it)

As far as the torque comment, I do kinda wish I had that extra torque... but it's only 17 extra foot lbs. Not really that big of a difference, and a b16 is a great platform to start from IMO.

Personally if I were you I'd go for hte cheaper GSR. Make sure you do a carfax and get the KBB and Nada book values on it.

 

I have an si, and I love it. I don't think i'll ever get rid of it, but I love integras with jdm conversions...1.8l is also nice. I guess pick whatever is in better condition. both are nice bases to start on.

 

10.2mm of stroke isn't enough to base a decision on which car to buy.

i'd personally take the si. it's got a better transmission.

it's funny cause people think that b18c1's are closer to b18c5's than b16a's. when in actuality, a b18c5 uses a gsr block, ported b16 head, and a b16 transmission iwth a LSD.

no such thing as a b18c5 with a 1.9 second gear

 

Get the gsr it's a better car, just older. I mean they kept it the same for 7 years. 94-95 is the best years for mods, use that extra $5k you were going to spend on the si and freshen up the motor and get some boost, or put it into an N/A set up, either way you will be a lot faster/happier quicker. I just picked up a 95 GSR 4-door for $3,800 w/ 117k. There is nothing wrong with it.

 

Personally I wouldn't go with either....price on the Civic is too much for what you get, and the mileage is a bit high on the GSR.


Buy a cheapo car and then put a good motor in it.

 

Thanks for all your opinions like i said i already have the gsr was thinking of selling it to get the si just because it is newer and less mileage it can last me longer. Unless of course i build the gsr motor which i was planning to do in the futre and set it up for N/A but we will see. Im not to sure. I just love the way the si looks its clean and sleek just sitting there in that blue with some sprint hart cp wheels white omg insane. cf lip and hood then build the motor N/A i just wish the si had a big motor or more tq i know 10 horse and 17 torque isnt that much of a differnce. but either way boht great cars. Undicided unless somone offers me an offer that i cnat refuse for my gsr.

 

Ill go with the GSR because the Civic Si is too much...
