Default TSW VX1s and my recent "wreck"

While at my local Harry's U-Pull-It looking for a hood, windshield and various other parts for my 90 CRX a couple of weeks ago, I came across this set of TSW VX1s on an Acura Legend. At about $25 each including rubber I thought it was a steal! It's not often that you find a complete set of aftermarket rims at the salvage yard! 2 rims came with 195/55/R15 Sumito HTR+s and the other 2 came with 195/50/R15 Michelin Pilot SXs. With winter fast approaching, once I get these rims on my car, I'll probably have to switch them out for my winter tire-equipped 13" steelies! Yay for winter!! What do you think of them?

I'll be sporting these (no matter what you guys think of them) once I get my car back from my dad's place. He's got a friend who's going to replace my windshield for $150-$170. The windshield is being replaced because about 3 weeks ago, my hood decided to unlatch, snap at the passenger side hinge, hit my windshield, swing over to the driver's side, hit my driver's side mirror, scrape the road a bit and then swing back up and finally rest on my windshield as I was on my way to work.

Although you can't see it, the windshield has numerous cracks coming from the bottom driver's side corner all the way across to the passenger side.

We did end up finding a hood from a 90 civic HB , it didn't fit! It was about an inch or so too long down the middle. From searching here, I found that 88-91 civic HB hoods fit 88-91 CRXs and vice versa. I'm guessing the hood I got from the HB didn't fit it properly either. We ended up just switching the good hinges and latch from the "new" hood and putting them on my now rebent into shape old hood.

Considering the average estimate I was getting for a brand new windshield to be installed around here was about $250, I think I'm getting a pretty good deal. Anyways, that's the cost my dad told me. I'm not sure if he was guesstimating or that's what the guy told him. Could come out cheaper as it's a friend of a friend installing it.

I think you need to do more shopping.

Anybody can open up the yellow pages, find the biggest Automotive Glass ad, and give them a call. Usually those shops will have high prices (they need to pay for those big ads somehow). However, you can find the same quality in a smaller shop. Plus it depends on the type of glass they're using, some people say they have experienced bad wavy vision in their glass, I haven't, so to me, glass is glass.

I did do some shopping and looked at both NJ and PA Yellowpages for numerous counties. For arguments sake, I just called a bunch of places again and prices ranged from $250 -$265. One guy just told me he charges $280 for the windshield alone and it may require new molding for an additional $70! All the other places I called inclued the molding.

I don't think those are the right offset either, 4X114 for those and 4x100 for CRX according to here
