Bought a new Civic - great deal! Some questions.
2002 EDM Honda Civic 1.4 IS - gone 40.000 KM
This is a very small 90 bhp 1.4l SOHC engine, nothing fancy.
Do you know if the EP3 exhaust and suspension will fit this car?

Wow, they put a 1.4 in those cars over there? Yikes.
Anyways, suspension would probably bolt right up. Lowering springs for EP3R maybe not since I'm sure the 1.4L is a lot lighter than the K20 so the ride height would be off. Full coilovers I'm sure would fit perfectly.
As for exhaust, tough to tell. I'd say no considering the 1.4 probbaly has a completely different cat/exhaust manifold layout. Is the exhaust manifold on the front or the rear of the engine?

Hi, and thanks for your replies. I want to put on the omnipower coilovers, and just a catback. The system on now rattles, so thats really the only reason why. OEM and something like T1R or similar will cost me the same, so makes no diffrence.
Rumors are that Honda has an OEM bodykit for the 2001+ hatchback. Do you think that will fit this car? I've been searcing around for it, but I cant seem to find it. Do you guys know the part numbers for it?
Edit: How do I change the headunit?

the us only got 1 hatchback which was the EP si. which could be a little different from what you have so i dont know if it will fit or not.
this is the kit, scroll down a bit (it will say rear under body spoiler etc.) but this is for a 2005 model, which was slightly different from the 02-03 model.

part numbers are different because of the color
heres what it looks like:

dont know much about the head unit.
good luck

The only OEM kit I know of is for the Type-R hatch. Looks good, but you might have to really dig around to find one.

I'll try to remember what I did to remove mine...
1. Take off the shift **** -- pull down on the chrome collar to unsnap it from the ****, then unscrew the **** itself.
2. Remove the shift boot & garnish. Poke your thumbs into the rubber, then start to gently pull the panel away from the dash. If one of the clips is a little difficult, don't yank on it -- be patient, maybe give it a wiggle to get it loose. Unplug the hazard light switch.
3. Find the screws that hold in the radio/HVAC dash assembly. There are just two in a metal bracket that you can now access. You won't need to remove them -- just loosen them enough. You can try using a stubby screwdriver, or you can get to them from the outside: take off the panel under the steering wheel and drop the glovebox (there are two bumpstops in the sides of the glovebox that can be removed without unscrewing anything).
4. Once the screws are undone, removing the entire upper dash is pretty self-explanatory. Wiggle it a bit and work it out, unplugging the HVAC controls as soon as you can reach them.
Anyway, that's what I remember.
Nice to talk to a Norwegian, too -- I think my native Norwegian heritage is only two generations back.

Hi there
Thanks man, thats a really nice little writeup! I also found a new frame to place the new HU in. The stock unit is kinda oval shaped.
Yeah, lot's of Viking blood in the US. Do you know where in Norway your heritage come from?

Just be careful and don't break anything.. lol
I don't know just where in Norway my grandma's parents came from (her older sister, I think, was literally born on the boat while emigrating to the US). I did get to visit Oslo for work a couple years ago, though. Had a great time, lots of nice people around town.

The kit is listed for the USDM EP3 2005/2004 models simply because the kit did not exist until the end of 2003 model year. If you have a USDM EP3, the entire HFP kit (sides, spoiler, wing) will fit your 2002 car.
However, I don't see where anyone warned our Norwegian friend that the front spoiler will not fit his car.
He can add the UK/German CTR front lip and rear spoiler for less money, anyway.
