need answer about my new springs and shocks(neuspeed, tokico)
well i got my springs and shocks today
neuspeed sports,,and tokico blues
now it looks like only the rear springs are progressive
u know wound tigher at the bottom
also
on the rear springs
do i mount those upside down??
u know the wound tighter part at the top??
cuz to me thats the only way the spring sits perfect on the shock
i thought u would mount all the springs so u can read the #'s and stuff on the side??
its just that the rear springs look like they dont fall into any grove on the shock
but upside down they fit perfect,,but the wound tighter part of the spring is at the top,
someone help
thanks mike

mine are neuspeed race..and tokico's..i ddidnt rellly pay attention to ho i put mine in it just that the smaller one went up front...but try it the way i look/feels to you... neuspeed race and sports are NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!1
when I put my Suspension Tecniques springs in, the instructions said that you had to put the tighter wound end on top - your Neuspeeds didn't come with any Instructions?
as i've read, neuspeed sports are the same as H&R sports. And i know that the H&Rs combine linear springs in front, with progressive rate springs in the rear... i'm not sure why.. but yes, they're good springs.
As for mounting the springs... i think the tighter wound coils are on top. this makes sense on the H&Rs because the little H&R logo is right side up...

well they have some instructions
but nothing about the way to install the springs
also,
if u say the tighter wound part goes towards the top,,
that means that the words on the spring for the rear will b upside down
i dont know why they would do this
but thats the way it would b
to me it just seems to sit better that way too
tighter wound springs on top
another way to tell i guess would b at the end of the spring
1 endof the spring is round,
and the other end of the spring is flat ,,if u know what i mean
i guess i will get them installed with the tighter on top
anymore help would b great
thanks mike

well ok, if one end of the spring has a flat surface (you can stand it up on side side only), then that side would definitely face towards the top. On the opposite end, the rounded end would fit perfectly into your spring perch..... yeah?
Yes the tightly wounds side goes on the top. To my knowledge they always do. They just probably stamped the springs upside down. Human error, no big deal.
Oh also, are the front springs shorter than the back ones??

if the springs fit perfectly either right side up or upside down, then would it matter which way you mount it? it's just an IF question...
