Default Is there something wrong under the hood??

So lately I have had terrible gas mileage, and my car takes really long to warm up. I normally get about 30 mpg getting on it quite often, and now I am getting about 24 mpg driving really, really easy. Now instead of the car warming up in a minute or two, now it takes like 5 mins to fully warm up. It used to start to warm up a little in the first minute, now it takes 3 min before the needle even moves.

So i was thinking that i must have some sensor malfunctioning.
anyone know what is going on?

anyone know what might be the problem?

Do you have a CEL Light on, sounds to me like you need a tune-up, new air filter, thermostat, plugs, wires, dizzy cap and rotor would be a good start even a fuel filter would probably a good idea, how many miles??

no cel, filter is good, I hope the other stuff it good, and I think/hope it is the fuel filter. I have 114k and the fuel filter is on so tight i could not get it off, so i wouldnt be surprised if its been on there a while, or maybe the original.

yep fuel filters can be a bitch to get off, be careful of the steel line, its probably original, most people dont want to shell out 30 bucks at honda for a filter. Time and patience will get it off. I would deff change the thermostat because it might not be opening properly or all the way causing extended warm-up times, also dont forget to bleed the coolent when you're done

just in case you didnt know when changeing your fuel filter is to take the gas cap off to relieve any back pressure in the lines. dont want gas spraying in your face now.

**** my car takes about 10 min to warm up, and the needle wont even move unless the car starts moving.

i let it sit for 35 min and the needle was still reading cold even tho the engine was hot to the touch.

His car takes two minutes longer to warm-up and you suggest he replace all that?
I'm glad you're not my mechanic... I'd tell you to go eat a d*ck.

Is your radiator fluid full and mixed properly? Mine took a couple minutes extra when my fluid was low, I topped it off and it was back to normal.

Someone else mentioned something about the thermostat, unfortunately I know nothing about it, what it does, and what problems it could cuase in malfunctioning. Anyone willing to inform me a little about this?

i checked last night, and when the car is started a few mins later the upper radiator hose warms up in a few mins, but the lower one never warmed up..... in the 5-10 min the car was on. does that mean my thermostat is stuck open?

I dont have any suggestions for the long start up time but as for the drop in gas mileage check the air in your tires. That happened to me when my PSI in my tires dropped I went from 30+ MPG to 25ish MPG. As it gets colder its very important to check them often.
