Default funny story..

funny story..driving down the rode and my timing belt breaks..


k so its not so funny but is the b18b an interfearence motor? (am i screwed?)


Im pretty sure I am..Its going in the shop soon.

oh for the recorde everything was replaced at 90k the car only has 120k on it now so i guess it

just wasnt my day.

yea whoever you bought the car from probly lie about the 90k thing.. non-vtec isnt as bad as vtec. so hopefully your ok

Yes, it is an interference engine. There's no way to determine the damage unless you look inside.

alot of times depending on the RPM's you can be ok , if it was at idle or low RPM's like coasting....sometimes it will just knock the valve out of adjustment and you can fix it really easily

its an interference motor so you should be fine as long as you didnt try and start it after it broke. If this was an H-series, well that would be a sad ending...

how hard were you driving it when your belt snapped??

if it was too hard, it could be more then a timing belt

EDIT: you might as well change your water pump while your at it...cuz obviously the previous owner didnt

if he is going to replace stuff i'd suggest the timing belt, water pump, cam seals, tensioner at least.
