Best tranny for hybrid CRX?
i'd say the ys1 from the 92-93 gsr
the gear ratios are alot closer than the ys1`s off the ls motors
i believe that tranny is as close as u can get with a type r tranny that is cable

UNLESS you want to put some low numbers on your slips, (running high hp like turbo or blower) then you need a little longer gears, so in that case i would suggest sticking with the ls.

Damn, I should have put it up to a vote. I think I got one post for each tranny. Anyone know of a good place to get any of the ones mentioned? Salvage yard or do some JDM motor suppliers sell trannys too? In CA of course.
Thanks for the responses.

i have a quaife for a 92-93 GSR tranny... for sale... but not the tranny itself. i have a J1. i need to do the swap so i have no input for you there.
Use B16A/B17A transmissions on a B18A/B18B/B20 ONLY if you don't plan to use the car alot on the freeway. Because the extended high revs WILL shorten the life of the motor.
Isn't there a difference between the jdm ys1 and usdm ys1? I got the impression that the jdm ys1 had gearing similar to the type r, only with out the 4:78 final drive.
