Default Brake Pads for performance driving/auto-x

Did a search and read some good reviews for the ITR guys but heres my specific needs, i'm comparing Hawk HP plus and Cobalt GT, oh and if the pads won't do well in snow the can be removed since i'll likely be removing the SS lines anyways for winter.

- 95% street car and 5% auto-x
- tires are Hankook R-S2 Z212 (think Azeni RT-615)
- no ABS
- 2500lb Acura 1.6EL
- Will be combining the pads with SS lines and possible new Brembo Blanks

I want to upgrade the brakes because I don't really feel current brakes are cutting it, especially with the tires having so much grip and these pads just can't fully use it.

I'm thinking either Cobalt GT or Hawk HP plus. dust is not an issue at all, but noise is somewhat, alittle is ok, but i don't want to sound like a dump truck.

Rotor life is also not a concern, but cold bite is since its a street car not a dedicated race car. I'll be trying auto-x this spring and plan on attending a few events, so i want a dual pad street/auto-x as I won't be changing it out for the few auto-x i'll be running.

so what do you guys think Hawk HP plus or Cobalt GT, or do yuo think another pad suits my needs better?

I would go EBC green stuff pads, i think for what he plans to use them i dont think he needs that aggressive of a pad. Leave the SS lines in. You can use EBC, Brembo, or even Power slot. I have had good luck with all of them in either my honda, nissan or VW.

Carbotec is a company worth looking at as well.

I don't know about autox but I have heard good things about project mu pads. May not be what your looking for, but I thought I would throw the name out and let you decide for yourself.
