How to tell if engine needs rebuilt?
Is there any way to tell if a motor has been rebuilt? i bought my GSR with 156k on it but it runs really strong. Don't know if the previous owner rebuilt it or not so wanted to know if there was a way to tell.

along with a leak down test. Inspect the gaskets for any leaks. 154k is not bad on a GSR motor, if it were taken care of properly.
You may, if you have experience, drop the oil pan and remove the valve cover for a short visual inspection of parts. Those gaskets are cheap to replace (if needed) once they are removed, just so you can see some of the internals of the engine.
