I NEED A LITTLE TRANSMISSION HELP, PLEASE
so, i have a 94 civic with a b16a swap. the transmission is kinda old and i broke it today. so im going to get a new one tomorrow. i did the motor swap myself but i've never changed out just the transmission. can i use any b series hydro transmission? which would be the best? are there any special things i should know besides just removing it and putting the new one in. do i need any special tools like a clutch alignment tool? any help would be much appreciated.
you can use any b series tranny....best tranny for a b16a is a b16 tranny...dont think the motor is strong enough for the long gears of any other tranny...

the gear ratio be the same as a b16 but with lsd

Get a jdm ITR 98+ tranny. If i recall, first through third are the same as the s4c, fourth and fifth are the same as GSR. But, it has the 4.785 FD with LSD so your car will kick *** in first through third, and the taller fifth will be good on the highways.
Any B-series hydraulic transmission would fit, one from an ITR would be a step up with the LSD. A JDM one would be even better than that with the shorter final drive.
And unless you're going to remove the clutch, you won't need a clutch alignment tool. Although I would recommend replacing the rear main seal on the engine since you're in there anyway. That would involve removing the clutch, thus needing the clutch alignment tool. Your call.
BTW what are you planning to do with the "broken" transmission? What exactly is wrong with it?

its been messed up for a while. 3rd gear has been grinding for 2 months now. im not sure what exactly is wrong with it but i put mcdonalds trays on the rear tires and did donuts for about a minute straight. now it feels like there is something loose inside the transmission. i'd rather replace it than try and deal with the inside.
Sounds like you threw the differential pin. My buddy Nick had the same problem with his, broke the diff, and cracked the trans case.
I seriously doubt his diff is messed up.
From what it sounds, third gear is mangled. It'd be easiest and cheapest if you took the transmission off and took it to a shop, they could replace the gear and synchro parts for pretty cheap.. much cheaper than a new transmission. Unless you find a good deal.
