Anyone have more information on this race car?
My car-a-day calendar has this car for today:
1991 Comptech Acura-Spice AK93 IMSA Race Car
I'd never seen it before, and this pic from nsx.vtec.net was all I could find on the 'net. It's got the 1991 NSX engine in it (well, parts of it) and looks pretty cool. Anyone have any more info??

It appears to be a "Camel Lights" car (i.e. an IMSA "GTP Lights" prototype).
The class was designed so prototype racing could be done by privateers more affordably and competitively than in the full-bore GTP class, where manufacturers turned out very high dollar cars like this one.) It continues to this day in open-top form (currently called SRPII or LMP675).
IIRC, a GTP Lights car was a custom monocoque chassis (i.e Spice) mid-engine car with production-based mechanicals (i.e. Acura). Probably 1900 pounds, with 350-400hp would be my guess. Very quick indeed.
Spice was the major GTP Lights chassis builder IIRC. There were some others, but I can't remember their names (Tiga comes to mind?). GTP Lights cars had Mazda rotaries, Buick V6's and V8's, Ferrari V8's, and of course Acura V6's.
Hope that helps,
Jon

Yeah it must've been the RealTime precursor or something. Anyone have a website or something? I know it's a Camel Lights GTP car, but I couldn't find any sites about it.

The car is still owned by RealTime and it makes some appearances at various import shows around CA. If you want more info on the car there is some stuff in a book called "Prototypes".
Parker WAS a CART commentator, now he is with the NHRA. Too bad, I thought he did a good job, and he has to be one of the nicest guys. I got to talk with him for a little while last year at mid-ohio.
