Alarm arms itself when door is open

I recently traded an H-T member for an Acura Integra. It's got a security system in it that's really breaking my *****.
The remote that comes with it has the brand "Prestige" on it. It has a code for the remote, APS95BT2, on the back. Standard sort of remote. Well, this system is insane. It certainly works well. Too well, indeed. It seems to have a motion sensor and everything. Big problem I'm having is that the alarm will arm itself when either door or the trunk is open for more than 30 seconds - and then if I move something in the car, or close the door, etc... the alarm will go off. Outrageously annoying if I'm moving stuff in/out of the car or, as I've been trying to do today, putting in the HU. Agh.
I know I'm being vague with details on the system itself. It's really all I know about it. Is there anything I may be able to do about this without disabling the entire system? If I were to kill the system somehow, it might kill the remote too, and my keyless entry... :S
Thanks in advance...

You need to get the manual for the alarm system, go into programming mode, and program that option to off.
Yes, it's normal. It's designed to arm the system automatically, but usually, it starts counting down after it sees the door trigger close...
:shrugs: Get the manual and see how passive arming is supposed to work on that unit.

Just look for the model of your alarm and check the manual. Here's the link: http://www.audiovox.com/webapp...brand=

Ah, I found it. I guess it's somehow backwards. I'm going to take a look at the unit and swap the wires, I guess. It's thinking that the door is open when it is closed (thus three chirps when it arms, instead of 2, I suppose), and vice versa. It makes little sense for a system to arm itself with a door open
That'll be a fun project for tomorrow.
