Feel stupid asking this but I am trying to figure out if I have abs. I have a 93 Si and I am pretty sure that I do.

you will need a pic by the brake area... rite there is your master cyl. most likely you dont have it tho

No, your 1993 Si does not have ABS. What you circled is your brake master cylinder and brake booster.

Thanks a lot. Looking at my brakes how would I know I have abs?

 

i have an 00 Si and i dont even have ABS.

 

I am wanting to buy some new rotors and pads. They have rotors for abs and non abs. Whats is the difference between the different rotors if there even is one?

 

you dont have ABS. if you did you would have some orange plugs on the left side fo your airbox. sorry

yeah, hondas with ABS, have orange wires and plugs. when i open i a hood and see that ****, i instantly know this honda has ABS. Also its kinda obvious there are a lot of extra hardlines and stuff next to your air box, like stated above.

 

Nope you just have normal hudraulic brakes.


ABS box looks like a squareish hunk of silver metal with a bunch of coppery looking metal lines runing into it.

 

I guess thats good news. At least my rotors will be a little cheaper.

 

The ABS 'box' will be next to your air box. And no, you don't have it.

 

I could be wrong, but I have heard if the Civic has rear FACTORY rotors it has ABS, if not it doesnt. I would think ABS is just one more thing that can break.

You still have to get the rotors that have comes with the ABS. I just did mine on my 95 EX and had to return them cause I got the one with no abs. At least that's the way advanced auto parts have it

up here in canada our SiR's have ABS, during the heavy snowfall last week it was going nuts at every stop sign and intersection, glads its there though.

Or you can measure your rotors with a tape measure and measure the ones they hand you to make sure that the monkey behind the counter didn't give you something for a 77 Firebird by mistake.

 

EG's dont come with abs.

I am not one to correct people but some eg's do come with abs.

some do...my sister's old 95 ex came with ABS and all disk brakes...
