s2000 engine ina 93 del sol........
Hey everyone.....im lovin this forum....im havin a lot of fun and findin out a lot as well...anywayz back to my question.....will a s2000 engine fit right into a 93 del sol???? where can i find a s2000 engine...and how much would it be??? thankz everyone
it will be extremly hard to do,, one the engine bay will not fit it, two the delsol is front wheel drive and the s2k is rear, threefor the price it would run to refab everything to work you could have bought a s2k
Thankz Guyz....Well lookz like i aint doin that idea i was just wondering cause i put a poll up about what engine would be the best and someone added the s2000 engine into it and they said it would fit right in....o well always get more opinions right....thankz people
O wait the person said s2000 motor .... my bad.... how much a differance would that make?????? would the motor fit and how much horsepower diferrance would it make... and would it change anytrhing withthe red line? or would it just be easier to go with a JDM B18C
have you ever seen under the hood of an S2k? The motor/engine/transaxle/whatever is mounted north-south. Meaning the power take-off, or end of the crank, is pointing rearward. Now, open the hood of your Del Sol(or any just about any front drive car, for that matter). You'll see the engine is situated east-west, or transverse. This would be the most difficult hurdle to overcome. There is no kit to convert this, and no factory mounts that can be swapped to enable you to fit an S2000 motor/trans in that car(del slo). Not to discourage, but it would be some very expensive custom work to do this. Hope this helps.

maybe if you hadnt banned spongebob than you could have learned something he did an s2000 swap in a cx hatch! jerks, you know who you are
anything is possible with time and lots of money... an NSX engine in a CRX... a Mazda 3 rotor in a AE86...

IMO this swap could definetly be pulled off. You would have to modify the engine bay , fabricate a trans tunnel , locate the rear end , Etc........ If anyone is extremely serious about this swap, I do know of somebody that is capable of such a task.............. But it's gonna cost ya............
yeah well the first step is to get an s2k motor and really i am not sure that many have been wrecked. so in that case you will have to buy new, which that engine is about 15,000 bux. so there is a starting figure.
man for that much you could make your del sol faster then a s2k.
just my .02.
randy
p.s. i work at honda that is why i know how much they cost. haha

Actually a lot of them have been wrecked but even an engine out of a wrecked one usaually runs above the $7500 mark. Yes you can fit an s2000 engine into a del sol but it is not worth it as has been pointed out. There is also a hybrid forum
