hey, recently removed my hondata ecu. for some reason, my ecu won't work unless it's grounded, even the tuner had a problem with it until he gruonded it. SO, how do i ground it? just make sure it's bolted to the side? i know that sounds so incredcibly dumb but just making sure
You know how if you drive a Honda of the car lot it 'works'? Let's just go ahead and attribute it working to the fact that it's grounded properly. So, how do you go about doing that? Well, I just gave you an example of what works - make it like that....factory.

If your just going to ridicule me please go somewhere else. I just asked a simple question so I can make sure everything is okay. I could barely wire up my tach for the rpm cluster, so please don't give me a hard time because I lack a wealth of knoweldge in the electrical area!
Anyone else want to help me?

I'm not ridiculing. If things were grounded properly, then your tuner wouldn't have to ground it himself, right? Well see, my tuner just tunes my car. He doesn't seem to have to ground my ECU to make it work. So maybe you're lacking a ground somewhere. Go over them, clean them, and re-tighten.
If you're unsure of what you might be missing, look at some other Honda for a reference, which is what I said initially.

thats for that bit of useless info....ive already told him the problem...the ground through the wire harness has a problem...duh

You are exactly right. Did you notice how my first post was just about as fecitous as your first and second? We're on the same page. The problem seems like it should be an easy fix. You add a ground wire to the ECU that wasn't there and it makes things work. You don't have to do that a on a stock car though. So the delta between the two is the problem....meaning, the stock harness has a problem as you initially stated but couldn't be grasped by the thread poster.

i told him what the problem was and he asked how he can go about fixing it...guess u cant read...i did answer his first question as for his 2nd i wasnt about to explain the process of toning out and tracing wiring

so after the first question was already asked and answered u felt the need to answer the first question again while completely ignoring the 2nd...your real usefull

So you'll offer up the blatantly obvious answer to the problem but when it comes to getting something 'useful' out of you, no dice. I see. Then again, I can't talk too loud because I did the same thing, yet...you're calling me out for some reason. Now, why is that? Did you feel your all-encompanssing answer should have ended the thread? Was no one else allowed to be as assinine as yourself?

if you had also read where he said he has no knowledge of electronics i was trying to refrain from making him feel stupid
telling him how would have done him no good...so i left it at that
oh and the answer was so ovious you just posted it right away didnt ya

hehe thanks guys. I don't believe it's my harness on the car so im guessing it's the ecu. Seeing how the ecu is a obd2B, there are few cars that I know of to test it on. Im going to just send it into hondata, they said they would offer free testing on the ecu, so hopefully like you guys say it's something minor with it.
