b16 head on a b18c1 worth it?
well i can pick up a "Stage 3" ported and polished b16 head would it be worth buying? or should i keep my b18c1 head? what else would i have to buy to make that head work? Intake Manifold wise? would be there a difference in power or whatnot? and compression wise.
There have been many a topic about this, so I suggest you look around for some of them to get the full story. You will lose compression by putting the b16 head on, unless you you plan on using a thinner headgasket or getting higher compression pistons.
It would be worth getting if a reputable shop did the port and polish, but I don't think I would ever buy a head that just says "stage 3 port and polish" without knowing who did it.

hey wassup man??? my buy did that sawp to his car an the car runs like ***... i kinda did some lookin around for him and it actually lowered the compression on his car it has NO BOTTOM end power... at all its actually slower the the GSR that he ha at 1st... my recomendation..... NO SUHHHHH
keep your gsr head....
you will not feel the .2 you loose in compression; but its still not worth swapping heads.

keep the gsr head...unless youre getting the stage 3 b16 head for dirt cheap. ive always liked the gsr head better, seen some flow numbers vs. a b16 head that made it kind of evident why the all motor drag guys use the gsr head for the most part. anyways sell your bseries while you still can....k is the way to go these days

I agree. Keep your GSR engine the way it is. Mod that sumbitch too. Some people desire to one day get this engine, so just keep it and work with what you got. Thats what I would do if I were you. But if I were you and you were me, then I would have never started a thread debating whether or not to ditch any part of a GSR engine.
