Sparkplugs are a rust-like color?
I just put new sparkplugs in today (Two steps colder due to supercharger). I pulled them back out a few hours later and they are covered in what looks to be a rust-like color. We're not talking about tan either. Whats my engine telling me? (Yes I googled it).
no love for KooK.
I have one person telling me its a symptom of being lean w/o detonation. Its not shiny, its just a light rust color and I can wipe it off with a towel (Most of it anyway).

kinda of a weird question to answer ur question...but was the car sitting for a while? or possibly get a good amount of water in ur intake...possible head gasket? or intake manifold gasket...
Leakdown numbers were all less than 5% at 110psi so I doubt its a headgasket, I just replaced those sparkplugs a few hours before checking them.
I'm goina dig into it a bit more tonight.

have you used any of them octane boosters and injector cleaners? A friend of my bro in law used too much of that **** and his plugs were a rust/ brick color...
Actually, I did just use an injector cleaner, plus I use an octain booster almost everytime I fill up (which is the whole 2-3 times now). Hmmm. Thanks man.

I took a picture anyway.

How is it driving wise? Any difference?? Gap is still good? What kind of plugs? WHy did you decide two steps colder? How much more HP are you doing over stock or the mods you had before? I heard generally for about every 50hp you go one step colder in plugs.

one step colder per 50hp is a good rule to generally go by for Nitrous. The car is currently putting down 236whp on a safe tune, 260whp on a good tune. I gapped them down to .032 and it drives like a normal integra with a vortech. They're NGK V-Power.
If you wanna go with a blower for an Integra to race it, buy a JRSC. If you wanna go with a blower for daily driving mostly, I'd go with a Vortech. They're dyno queens but it's actually easier on the engine to have a centrifical supercharger rather than a roots.
I don't recommend FI to anybody though unless they have done a proper amount of research. Obviously you have a Turbo VW though so I don't know why I'm saying this
