Default Small car or large go cart

These pictures are of a 1962 austin healy bugeye sprite we are building for a customer. Just got it back from the body shop. The car is being set up to use the s2000 motor and trans and factory digital dash...

Thats pretty cool, I like it a lot I think my dad had one of those cars back in the day.
I have a couple S2000 shortblocks sitting around. I was thinking about doing a project similiar but in a first gen rx7. Big turbo, GM TH350 trans, and a Ford 9" rear should make for a lot of fun

I'm surprised the stock suspension is being left in, lever shocks and all. I don't think the owner's going to stay happy with that for long. It's not like the car's being left original... why not put in some proper suspension, which makes me wonder what's being used for a rear axle. The stock straight axle will break in no time, and a suitably strong replacement will weigh a ton. It needs IRS and proper shocks in the front. I wonder what the S2000 weighs compared to the original engine it's replacing. Yeah it'll be good for smoking the tires, but the light, nimble, nature of the car will be lost I'm afraid. It'll still be fun to drive, just not as nimble, which counts at the autocross.

good thing to post pic's with-out the front clip on. while from the doors back the bugeye sprite has nice lines it has to be IMHO the uglyist front end ever put on a car
edited for a pic

The car has a Rear end out of a toyota pu. Dont remember what year exactly. I agree on the front suspension but Trying to talk the owner into that is getting hard. may use outboard shocks and drain the lever shocks. I agree its not the best looking car but the owner loves them and has one of every year made.

That's why they're called "bugeyes". I happen to like them.

Cool, my dad had a bug eye ages ago, never ran in my lifetime though. If the s2k powerplant seems like a bit much here's a LINK to some pictures/info on one with a 478 ci hemi.

Excessive - Cool work - I sent you a PM about any more pics - as i'm about to begin the exact same swap into a 72 Midget (which uses the exact same chasis as the AH Bugeye).
