Default S20 tranny question

I just bought an S20 tranny for my civic from a local importer. I was assured it's from an EX but I am beginning to wonder after doing some research.

I found this on HT
S40 = 96-00 Civic
P4A-A000 = small bearing case = DX/HX/LX etc.
P4A-B000 = large bearing case = EX

My concern is that the tranny is an S20 but is marked A000 which based on the info below would mean it's not for an EX. Also, it has a stamp that says 85f or B5F, hard to tell..

This is a JDM trans. Any ideas what it's from?

It's not an EX transmission, take it back and ask for a B000 unless you want to hit 75mph in first gear . Also that transmission is off a 92-95 Civic, don't know what "JDM" model it would be. My guest is that they got it off a US civic and trying to sell it as "JDM".

Thanks. I agree. I found mistaBone's site and it looks like it's from a non-vtec.

Correct me if I am wrong, but an S20 will work after swapping the top mount over from my S40?

I will definitely be taking this back to get one stamped with B000 and an S40 if possible.
