Was the transmission cold? It definately sounds like something is wrong with it, but at 98, thats pretty new to be having any problems, my G2 doesn't even slip and i have 200k original miles *knocks on wood*.
When you changed the fluid, the old fluid that came out, what color was it?

I'm in the process of paying a transmission shop to replace my transmission in my 90 auto DB1. They told me it had gotten hot, and seized a bunch of parts inside. $1700!!!
But i'm not so sure why a 98 would do that. Check to see if all the intake lines are hooked up and are not leaking for any reason. Are you running an aftermarket intake? If so, did you put a hose from the VC to the intake or atleast a filter?? That's the only thing that i can think of. Good luck bro!!
