Default Aftermarket Timing Belts?

Well, i'm about 20k past due on my timing belt/water pump service And my tensioner is making a nice amount of noise so i'm getting pretty anxious to change it ASAP

I'm planning to in the future to either have a JRSC or a Buddy Club Spec 3+ or Toda B or C setup so i'm wondering about a upgraded timing belt. I know with the cams i should definatly have an upgraded belt but would a stocker be ok on the JRSC? I'm probably just going to go ahead and get a PE or greddy belt since i'm still on the wall of what setup i'm going for but i would like to hear some opinions/experiences.

I have see the stock belts used on 600 hp turbo cars with no problems. The OEM Timing Belt will work fine on your all motor setup or a JRSC setup.

Seen the Greddy belts hold up well. OEM seems to get the job done just as often. Its up to you. I've never heard of the Greddy belts failing.

Toda C and PE belt here, and previously had a PE belt on the stock engine. No problems at all so far, my way of looking at this is that it may not be absolutely needed, but it's not that much more $ compared to a stock belt and if it offers a little peace of mind then that's good enough for me. A rebuild is a LOT more expensive than a Toda, Greddy or PE belt. Oh, and with more aggressive cams I would also change it more frequently than the OEM service interval, for the same reasons as already mentioned.

FYI the amount of troubles people have with toda cams and timing belts seem to occur irregardlessly of brand of belt.

That's how it seemed to me too.

If you go OEM, you'll be fine with the JRSC, and if you get cams later you may want to get a new belt then anyway

<--Chris, who's only timing belt failure was when it caught fire. OEM belts are not fireproof.
