choosing tires and susp for 26's fronts
Hi,
I going to buy 26/8.5/13 MH's on front of my civic.
What size of skinnies should I buy? Should the rear axle be hight than front axle? Maybe some suspension changes?

I believe the skinnies should be either 3.5x22x15 or 3.6x24x15.
As far as suspension setup, you will need to get the slicks and skinnies first, then setup accordingly for height, clearance, and then track testing.

i thought rear skinnies are 4.5 ? (the tire not the wheel)
i know my weld's are 3.5

3.5 skinnies makes M&H (www.mandhtires.com)
Hmm so 8.5/26's on 13's in front, 3.5/24's in rear... how will it look like? Front and and will be on nearly same height or not? any more ideas?

If you have coilover adjustable suspension, then you just adjust the height accordingly.
But if your trying to find overall diameter of your setup so it comes out right, then there's a formula somewhere to figure that out. I use to know it but forgot it.

I ran the MT 26's this entire season (where allowed). I ran the MT 15x22 in the rear for skinnies. The most important thing in setting up your suspension is making sure your axles are in that perfect position between the transmission and the hubs. Which by the way with 26's is always easier then with the 24.5 or 25's if you ask me. After that, then mess with the rear coilovers. I had awesome experiences with it all season. Same driveline then entire season.

Can you please explain more on this perfect position between the trans and hubs?

I have found the absolute best luck with even stock axles on 26's. What I mean by that is, I found what worked out to be the (in my eyes) perfect position for the axles. Mine were/are coming straight out (parallel) with the ground. Axles under load will bind or twist, so what yo want to do is try to take away as much "weakness" as you can. If your axles are pointed down more towards the hubs, and you launch chances are when that axle binds and/or twists guess where the weakpoint is . . . that crooked tripod at the hub. Guess what . . . SNAP! Breaking axles is pretty much inevitable, you are just trying to limit the amount in which you go through. And stepping up to the 26's will test your drive train to the limits.
