Won't provide the protection in case of an accident.

I dont think the stock finders provide much protection either..........a girl once kicked my finder and it caved very easily, the carbon fiber one would be fine.

CF fenders would NOT absorb any energy in a collision, they would simply splinter, or crack, where metal pieces would crumple absorbing energy.

Okay...2 ton SUV behemoth vs. 2lbs fenders. The fenders wont do much in helping the car from sustaining further damage. So I think the safety of a car comes primarily from it's designed "crumple zones" or what not. Very little protection is from the fenders.

Especially Honda fenders?

Every little would help but as the accident gets worse the less that the crumple zones can help.

Rice is in the beholder. Many will tell you yes and many will tell you no. To me it's not because it's a performance mod yet for show. If you put CF look tape on your fenders then YES it's rice.

Don't worry about carbon fiber fenders vs steel ones... they are a cosmetic panel only, and do not get factored into the crumple zone equation by vehicle designers..
They would sell you cars with no fenders if you would buy em...

Trust me.. I know these things...

it's a complete waste of money. Hell, you can get the same effect, just paint "STEAL ME" on the side of your car. You wont even have to worry about those heavy.. uhmm.. 5 lb (if that) fenders anymore.

Rice depends on your taste because nowadays people just use that term very freely. To me it means that a car has stuff like loud exhaust just because of a huge tip welded on a stock pipe.

a fender will not give a protection during the crash anyways, its the body frame

that saves our ***, and i think its pretty cool to get some. just a little rice, but

not too rice

I side swiped a sign at 40mph sliding sideways, so probably a 7-10ishmph impact which would have shatter a CF fender. My OEM fender on the other hand can be fixed or replaced at a much lower price, not to mention what would have happened if it shattered a CF fender, and hit the frame, then travelled back to the door, but instead of just scratching down the side of the door it would have impacted right on the inside front of the door, I'm sure that would have made the door open and close nicey nice.

So yes, in a major accident I don't think it'll matter much, but for minor accidents, I def. think it'll matter if you have a CF fender or not.
